Military Priests Can't Read It

An order was given to all military priests: you are NOT to read the statement from the Catholic Church concerning the church's stance on Obama's new regulation.

Aside from my belief that Government should not be telling private businesses what to do, I have a huge problem with the military telling their ordained priests to defy their church orders.  The Catholic Church has an opinion and response to this regulation, and they should have the freedom to express such an opinion within their religious services.... no matter where those services are conducted.

I believe that if the military is going to protect folks in their sexual preferences then they should also protect the ordained Catholic Chaplains in their roles.  Be consistent, don't play favorites.

I can feel frustrated when I see this happening, but I also have the comfort (yep, I said comfort) in knowing that this was predicted by Jesus himself.

Behold, the hour is coming, indeed it has come, when you will be scattered, each to his own home, and will leave me alone. Yet I am not alone, for the Father is with me.
I have said these things to you, that in me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world." (Joh 16:32-33 ESV)

And Jesus answered them, "See that no one leads you astray. For many will come in my name, saying, 'I am the Christ,' and they will lead many astray. And you will hear of wars and rumors of wars. See that you are not alarmed, for this must take place, but the end is not yet. For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom, and there will be famines and earthquakes in various places. All these are but the beginning of the birth pains. "Then they will deliver you up to tribulation and put you to death, and you will be hated by all nations for my name's sake.
And then many will fall away and betray one another and hate one another. And many false prophets will arise and lead many astray. And because lawlessness will be increased, the love of many will grow cold. But the one who endures to the end will be saved. (Mat 24:4-13 ESV)

  1. I quite agree with you!  Where does the government come off telling people what their religious beliefs and practices should be, where they can be talked about, and legislating contrary practices?  When anyone says this is a "free country" I have to think they aren't paying much attention to the way things really are.
