Friday Fragments, finally!!!

Mommy's IdeaAh, yes, Friday Fragments.  It feels like that's all I have this week really.  We actually had a great week, but still having a hard time making a decision about the Homeschool website.

Pandora Radio, I am totally hooked!!!  A friend of mine told me about this a year ago ;-)  Yes, Ii am a bit slow to venture out of my 'box', hey, it's pretty scary out there!  But hubby bought me that Bose Bluetooth Speaker speaker for my iPod Touch and now I have personalized Internet Radio stations!!!  I mean hello, who wouldn't want that??  You can either enter an artist or song and Pandora will come up with a variety that matches your choices.  My stations are:
Return to Sender
Def Leppard
Bach
Third Day
Brad Paisley

In the same vein, our lovely host, Mrs. 4444 mentioned Google Chrome to me (well, us all remember?).  I finally checked them out and love it!!  There are apps that I found on there that my kids are using in their homeschooling and I love them!!  There are kid safe educational games, there is a typing club, and a flashcard space!!  You should totally check it out!!  It also allows the Disqus commenting system to be used with no problems.

I am so excited guys!!  Hubby is being sent to Florida for a conference and I get to go with him!!  We are going alone, my in-laws are coming out to watch the kids so we can do this, isn't that wonderful of them??  My MIL is currently without a job, she was let go late last fall.  At the time I teased her about being an 'on call' babysitter, but she was gracious enough to agree to come out.

See, we didn't get a honeymoon like normal folks.  With Ben's leave from Ft. Lewis at the time, we had a couple days in local hotel and then he had to fly back out for duty.  I followed a few days later.  We were both very young, and we just didn't have the money then for a honeymoon.  With the projected military draw down, our job may be in jeopardy within the next year, so we are going to take this vacation to enjoy ourselves while we can.  You could pray for us as we are making plans in case my husband is one of the soldiers getting a Reduction In Force letter.

I found a delightful vinyl wall art site.  I know some folks won't like this type of home decor, but I love quotes and use them often.  So of course Wall Quotes caught my eye ;-)  I think the best part is that I can give them my favorite quotes and they create the decor for me.  I am so excited, there are things my hubby is always saying that I would love to put up!!

Flashback Friday

Today's flashback goes beyond my years ;-)
Thanks to Pandora I heard this song recently and downloaded it for my hubby's ringtone and ringback.  It's pretty cute and pretty appropriate for our lives.

  3. Pandora is great and I like it at work too. Enjoy your trip, that will be nice to have one w/o the kids. My husband and I have had only one trip w/o kids since our first was born. We're hoping to maybe get one this year.

    1. Oh I hope you get to! We need to get out together more, even in just small ways, to enjoy just being us, you know?

  4. Ohh, how nice! A trip alone. Have a wonderful time together. It must be nervewracking to have the prospect of "downsizing" on the horizon. Keep us informed.

    1. Will do. So many folks have had to go through this, and I believe that God will provide somehow, but it's still trying and scary.

  5. I think the wall quotes is a terrific idea. Enjoy your time with hubby. I fantasize about getting away with mine for even just one night. Sigh.

  6. I love that kind of wall art, too, though I don't have any. Having just completed painting a bathroom, though, I'm very tempted. However, it's so expensive, just buying towels for the new look! Some day...

How cool is that that you get to take a little late-honeymoon? I'm happy for you :)

So glad you're liking Chrome. I'd like to know more abou tthat typing club!

Have a great week. Thanks for linking up :)

    1. You can find that app in the Chrome store and I would suggest you contact them through the link for teachers. I have not heard back form them yet, so I don't know details, but they claim that you can use this in your classroom to track different students' progress. I am excited about this possibility!
